Original notes
MV Agusta has a habit: when a shape matters, the first chapter is gold. Serie Oro opened the modern F4 story in the 1990s; it has marked other flagship debuts since. The Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro is that ritual applied to the faired, Brutale-1000-derived inline-four café missile — official materials cap the run at 500 numbered units, made to order, with a dedicated certificate kit. Rider Magazine, Motorcycle.com, and MV’s own product pages all carry the same ceiling. That is Path A on the Rare Machines rubric: absolute production at the hard edge of ≤500, not a color package on a volume bike.
What the factory is selling is scarcity plus material theater. Period coverage emphasizes laminated and press-formed carbon bodywork, star-motif wheels nodding at the F4 750 Serie Oro, and a four-exit titanium exhaust signature. Claimed output sits with the Brutale 1000 family around 208 hp from the 998 cc four. The collector kit — certificate matching the bike’s number, cover, passenger seat hardware, CNC levers — is part of the product, not a dealer add-on brochure.
This example is publicly listed as #004 of 500, VIN ZCGHT33A2RV412540, with roughly 370 miles (597 km) showing, offered through Iconic Motorbike Auctions from Paris on a Portugal title. Early serials matter in limited Italian runs; they do not automatically mean “works” history. Provenance here is low-mile custody and kit completeness — verify the extras box and certificate before you romanticize the number.
Score honesty: 72, not the 90s. Five hundred is the maximum Path A will tolerate; dealer inventory of other Serie Oro units still exists in 2025–26 retail channels, so G3 (not a routine daily) passes on numbered-flagship grounds but without the loneliness of a true one-of. We already publish an MV F4CC on Rare Machines — the anti-generic marque cap (≤30% of Live Picks in 30 days) is a real operating constraint; treat this as a deliberate second MV only while the desk is thin, then diversify.
Watcher’s checklist
- Match plate / certificate #004 to VIN and COA.
- Inventory the factory extras kit — completeness moves these.
- Confirm title/export path (Portugal title, Paris offering).
- Age-check tires/fluids on a low-mile stored superbike.
- Re-check Iconic status / ask before acting — fixed-price listings can withdraw.
Provenance
What we would need to know
VIN ZCGHT33A2RV412540; production #004/500 per venue; ~597 km / 370 miles showing; Portugal title, offered from Paris. Seller-stated break-in service and extras-box completeness should be verified. Marque note: site already carries an F4CC — rolling marque share should be watched under the ≤30% rule.
Price context
How to read the number
New-ish limited editions print dealer MSRs in the low-to-mid five figures (UK press cited ~£61k at launch; US dealer tags cluster near ~$70k). Private/auction asks move with number, miles, and kit completeness. Rare Machines is not appraising this motorcycle.
